Muckwonago, WI
The Town Cottage
The concept of this home was spawn from a feeling my clients experienced while at a North woods cabin they enjoyed visiting. Our goal was to capture that same feeling but in an established city neighborhood.
This project wasn’t about bringing the great North to Mukwonago. It had much more to do with the spacial quality and the experience of being in that kind of open cabin space that made it so special. That wonderful experience drove many aspects of the new home’s design.
This new home showcases a wealth of sensible eclectic flair. The timber and steel staircase, sourced from locally harvested urban trees, anchors the vaulted family room nicely and creates just the right scaling for the room. The softness of the wood ceilings is complimented by the abundance of natural light that fills these spaces.
