The Family Cottage
The Project: Major renovation and additions to a small cottage in Door County WI. The new additions include a full Master Bedroom Suite, 3 additional bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a Sun Room with new foyer.
Our goal was to create a place where the whole family could come and vacation without compromising to much privacy. One of our biggest challenges was maintaining a cottage feel while adding all this new square footage. Our solution had much to do with controlling the scale of the glass and its composition and strongly resisting the impulse to make a large glassy box.
Comfortably nestled into its site set on the shores of the Bay of Green Bay this cozy family retreat boasts of ample views and leisurely living.
